Introducing AIDToolStack: The Developer Tool Discovery Platform
Today we are launching AIDToolStack — an open-source platform that helps developers discover, compare, and choose the right tools for their workflow.
What We Built
AIDToolStack combines four things that developers need when evaluating tools: a curated directory of AI coding assistants and developer tools, head-to-head comparison pages with honest editorial verdicts, community reviews from real users, and 50+ built-in developer utilities (JSON formatter, JWT decoder, regex tester, etc.) that work entirely in your browser.
Why We Built It
The developer tool landscape is overwhelming. There are hundreds of AI coding assistants, dozens of deployment platforms, and new tools launching every week. Marketing pages all look the same. Review sites are full of paid placements. We wanted a trusted source that developers could rely on for honest, technical evaluations.
Open Source
AIDToolStack is fully open source under the MIT license. The entire codebase — Next.js frontend, Prisma database, seed data, and all 50+ browser-based tools — is available on GitHub. Fork it, self-host it, or contribute to the main project. We believe developer tool discovery should be a community effort, not a walled garden.
What is Next
Our roadmap includes an MCP server registry, an API marketplace, tool chaining workflows, and community-driven comparisons. We are also building a browser extension that surfaces relevant tools based on your current task. Follow our blog for updates and join our Discord to help shape the platform.
Written by AIDToolStack Editorial
The AIDToolStack editorial team reviews developer tools, AI products, and MCP servers with hands-on testing and honest assessments. We use the tools we review every day in production.
