Cursor: Best for Multi-File Editing
Cursor excels when you need to edit multiple files simultaneously. Its Composer feature understands project structure and makes coordinated changes across components, types, and tests. Weakness: can over-edit when context is ambiguous.
Claude Code: Best for Complex Reasoning
Claude Code shines on tasks requiring deep reasoning — architectural decisions, debugging complex issues, understanding large codebases. It reads your entire project and reasons about it. Weakness: terminal-only workflow is not for everyone.
GitHub Copilot: Best for Inline Completions
Copilot remains the fastest for line-by-line coding. Tab-complete suggestions are fast and accurate for routine code. Weakness: limited multi-file awareness compared to Cursor and Claude Code.
